I entrusted my Ford Transit Custom to Auto Diagnostics for a wet-belt replacement. Although the vehicle had covered a high mileage, it was regularly and proactively maintained and was running properly before the work. I have always taken a preventative approach to maintenance because the vehicle is used for airport-transfer work and reliability is critical. The vehicle was driven to Auto Diagnostics under its own power. When I collected the vehicle and started it in Auto Diagnostics' car park, I immediately noticed a new and abnormal engine noise. I was still in their car park when I telephoned the owner, James, and told him that something was wrong and that, to me, it sounded as though the exhaust was blowing. In my view, my concerns were dismissed rather than treated as something requiring immediate investigation, and I was told that they would look at it the next time I went for a service. Less than 30 hours later, the engine suffered catastrophic failure. Auto Diagnostics' own later invoice recorded that the intermediate shaft bolt had sheared off and that the engine had to be replaced. Their own paperwork also shows that only 115 miles separated the recorded mileage at the wet-belt replacement from the mileage recorded after the catastrophic failure. At the time, I was desperate to get back on the road, and James agreed to install a replacement engine quickly. Although I had lost faith in his abilities, I assumed he couldn't go that far wrong fitting a replacement engine. Subsequently, after paying Auto Diagnostics more than £8,000 in total for the replacement-engine work and associated parts, I had further concerns about the installation. A Ford Transit specialist later identified that an auxiliary electric coolant pump had been omitted when Auto Diagnostics installed the replacement engine and that the coolant plumbing had been altered to accommodate its absence. The specialist advised me that the altered arrangement would, over time, have damaged the engine, and I paid a further £960 to have the problem rectified. I have tried to resolve the matter formally but remain deeply dissatisfied with the outcome and am now pursuing the dispute through the appropriate legal process. Based on my experience, I would never entrust another vehicle to this garage and cannot recommend them.

Booked in to diagnose & fix an air conditioning problem but it wasn't a regas issue so I was advised to take my car back to the manufacturer as it is still under warranty. Staff was very kind not to charge me at all even though he had to do the initial diagnosis. Great service, thank you so much.

Very disappointed with this garage. My car was taken in for repair, but the original problem was not fixed. Despite spending time and money, I left with the same issue I arrived with. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service.
