What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

In Hull, Harrison Garage has built a reputation on the kind of straightforward, honest service that customers say is increasingly hard to find. Dave, the owner, is named repeatedly in feedback, with reviewers describing him as transparent about what work is needed and willing to explain faults clearly, sometimes showing customers the problem on the ramp. A recurring theme is the willingness to fit people in at short notice, whether for an MOT, a service or an unexpected breakdown, with several jobs such as an alternator replacement and an undershield repair completed the same day.

Customers mention being given a second opinion after being told elsewhere that major work was required, only for the actual job to prove smaller and more straightforward. The quality of the result is praised across clutch replacements, air conditioning and underbody treatment, with pricing described as fair and reasonable. Tidiness and care with vehicles also come up, as does the patience to talk through advisories without pushing unnecessary repairs. Reviewers note that problems are explained before work begins, that costs are confirmed in advance and that the team keeps customers informed throughout. The atmosphere is friendly and unhurried, even when the workshop is busy.

Took My X1 in yesterday morning for a rear shocker replacement finished in time for tea. Work looks clean and professional at a decent price. Will be using again when needed! Thanks for doing a spot on job 👏

Just had a service for the first time at Harrison. Couldn't fault the service at all, reasonably priced and great service all round. Good honest garages that won't rip you off are hard to come by, i am pleased I've found a good place that will have my business for the future.

Dave and his team gave me some exceptional service when my Vauxhall engine reached its breaking point. They saw to it within 3 hours with me turning up with the rac on the same day. Couldn't recommend them enough they care about you not just your car and give you advice on what's best!

Highly recommend this garage. The guys were really lovely, helpful and honest from the first time I contacted them. Having struggled elsewhere to get my car sorted, these guys managed to fit me in at short notice for a MOT, service and some repairs and did a fab job. I'll be returning soon to have some further works completed that they advised weren't urgent.

Dec 2024: As someone who doesn’t really understand anything about cars and could easily be ripped off, I was anxious about finding a new garage for MOT and service after moving to Hull. The staff at Harrison Garage were absolutely great, they were friendly and explained thoroughly what work needed to be done and gave some recommendations for in the future. Will definitely use again and would recommend to anyone needing any work done on their car. Edit April 26: Adding this on as Google doesn’t let you review again. I had an engine fault light come on in my car, Harrison Garage were able to get it in on the same day, and order parts and have it repaired by the afternoon. Explained everything thoroughly about what needed done. Can’t recommend enough, wouldn’t go anywhere else.
